My mum used to make these hobnobs for me all the time when I was a kid and I absolutely loved them! I recently found her recipe and am very happy to say they taste exactly like I remember.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Mix flour, oats and sugar together in a large mixing bowl.

Over a low heat, melt the butter, golden syrup and water until fully combined. Stir in the bicarbonate of soda, and then add this mix to the dry mix.

Step 4
Mix well using a fork, then use your hands to make walnut sized balls of the mixture, put on a greased baking tray and flatten with a fork. (The hobnobs spread when baking, so make sure to give the biscuits quite a bit of space on the tray).
Step 5
Bake at 180°C for 12 minutes until golden brown, then cool on a cooling rack.
