Puff Pastry Easter Nests

Such an easy recipe to make for Easter. Perfect for a brunch. Flakey puff pastry filled with Nutella, topped with chocolate cream and Cadbury mini eggs.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 390°F and line 2 large baking trays with parchment paper.
Step 2
Unroll the pastry flour side down, roll with a rolling pin to slightly flatten out any wrinkles in the pastry.
Step 3
Spread 3 – 4 tablespoons of Nutella spread over one half of the pastry sheet, leaving the other half plain.
Step 4
Lift up the plain pastry, and fold over, on top of the Nutella pastry.
Step 5
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the pastry into strips. Depending on the width you desire you can get 8-12 strips. Proceed by twisting the strips then roll into spirals.
Step 6
Place on the baking tray, making sure they are spread apart. Beat one egg and brush the tops and sides of each swirl with it. and sprinkle over some sugar.
Step 7
Place it in the oven and let them bake for 10-12min.
Step 8
In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, add in the cream and cocoa powder until thick and creamy. Transfer the chocolate cream into a piping bag with a star tip.
Step 9
Once pastries are done and fully cooled, swirl the cream on top of each pastry. Then place 3 mini Cadbury eggs.
Step 10
**optional** dust powdered sugar on top and enjoy!
