Ingredients

2 ½ cuplow-sodium chicken broth
or water with 2 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon
⅓ cupunsalted butter
1 tspsea salt
kosher, optional, taste 1st
½ tspgarlic powder
¼ tspground black pepper
⅛ tsppaprika
¼ tsponion powder
2 TbspOlive oil
⅓ cuporzo
or bits or broken spaghetti
1 cuplong grain white rice
1 Tbspfresh parsley
chopped
Instructions
Step 1
* In a medium saucepan set over medium heat, add the chicken broth, butter, salt, garlic powder, pepper, paprika, and onion powder. Once the mixture starts to simmer, reduce to low heat.
Step 2
* In a large skillet set over medium-low heat, add the olive oil. When the oil is hot, add the vermicelli and cook until brown, about 4-6 minutes. Add the rice and cook until it turns bright white, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 3
* Pour the warm broth mixture into the skillet, stir to combine. Once the mixture simmers, reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 17 minutes. Stir in parsley and serve immediately.
