Step 1
In a large mixer bowl beat butter, sugar and crisco on medium speed until fluffy. Add the 3 egg yolks and vanilla, blend well. Mix the dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients gradually to the wet ingredients mixing until well blended. Add the Heavy Cream 1 T. at a time until dough forms. (Don't over mix) Remove from mixer bowl onto a board. Bring together into a ball. Slice off 1 inch slice. Roll slice into a rope cut 2 inch pieces. Roll each piece in beaten egg white then seeds. Place on parchment lined pan spaced apart.
Bake at 350° 12-15 minutes. Cool on wire rack. NOTE: original recipe is in a text from Gloria dated May 10
