These are strawberry cheesecake cookies made from scratch with fresh strawberries. I did a recipe earlier that used a cake mix, but you can tell the difference when you use fresh strawberries, instead of cake mix.

Step 1
Make a flat surface in freezer, mix cream cheese mixture and scoop one inch balls and place on lined parchment paper and freeze 2 hours or overnight.
Step 2
Heat oven to 350.
Step 3
When cream cheese is frozen make batter for cookies, cream butter and sugars till light and creamy, add egg, egg yolk and vanilla.
Step 4
Whisk dry ingredients together and gradually add to batter.
Step 5
Gently fold in strawberries.
Step 6
Using large scoop, scoop out dough. Place cream cheese ball in center and cover with more dough. Press down slightly.
Step 7
Bake for about 16 to 18 minutes.
Step 8
Make second batch, drizzle with icing if desired.
