Irn Bru Gammon Joint (Ham)
5 steps
Prep:10minCook:7h
A sweeter and Scottish twist on the classic cola ham. More caramel, deeper colour and a background taste of Irn Bru’s bubblegum flavour which shouldn’t taste as good as it does.

Instructions
Step 1
Score your gammon joint on both sides and around the middle with about a half-cm score.
Step 2
Place your joint in a slow cooker (crock pot) with the onions, carrots, cinnamon and enough Irn Bru (use the 1901 version for the sugar content) to cover and leave to cook on low (about 5 hours for 1.3kg).
Step 3
Mix five tables spoons of honey with five tablespoons of wholegrain mustard. Remove the joint from the slow cooker and cover in the honey-mustard sauce.
Step 4
Place in an oven for around forty minutes on 190c.
Step 5
Rest for fifteen minutes before carving. Enjoy as you would enjoy your gammon normally (I cracked a fried duck egg over my slice)!
