Ingredients: 2-3 cups Macaroni (Penne can also be used if that's all you have in your cupboards!); 2 Potatoes ((large) or 4 small ones); 2 rashers Bacon; 1 Onion; 1/2 Savoy Cabbage; 1.5 cups Milk; 1.5 cups Water; 0.5 cup White wine (optional); 0,5 tsp Cinnamon (optional); 50-70 g Gruyère (or other strong swiss chesse); 2 Apples

This recipe is a firm favourite of featured vanlifers @alfredsrollingkitchen. Anne & Pascal are big fans of pasta recipes whilst on the road. Pasta is easy to store in the van with a long shelf life. It is also easy to purchase anywhere, making it a favourite for vanlife. This dish has a sweet element by the addition of cooked apples, which add to the flavour beautifully. Here's a tip from the cooks themselves: Roast some onion rings with a bit of oil in a pan and put it at the end on top of the Macaroni - it is delicious <3
