Instructions
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 180ºC/Gas mark 5.
Step 2
2. For the stewed fruit, layer on peel the apples over a waste bowl.
Step 3
3. On a green chopping board, core and chop the apples into chunks (e.g. cut the apples into quarters and each quarter into pieces.
Step 4
4. Put apples and 50g sugar into a small pan with 3 tablespoon of water and stew them until the apples are softened.
Step 5
5. For the topping - Put margarine or butter and flour into a mixing bowl.
Step 6
6. Use your fingers to rub the fat into the flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs (rubbing in method)
Step 7
7. Stir in the 25g caster sugar with your hand
Step 8
8. Place fruit in the bottom of your ovenproof dish.
Step 9
9. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the prepared fruit, using a tablespoon or clean hands.
Step 10
10. Bake in oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
Step 11
11. Wash up all equipment and return to the correct storage place.
