Braised Mahi Mahi Puttanesca
This recipe is one of our faves! We’ve made this recipe with Mahi Mahi, Snapper & Hogfish. Essentially any whitefish will work well in this recipe.
Puttanesca Sauce originated in Italy and is made from tomatoes, black olives, capers, anchovies, and herbs. (We don’t include anchovies in our recipe, and the flavor is still delicious.)
Recipe is made all in one pan for easy clean up.

Instructions
Step 1
Have Pillsbury Crescent Rolls on a baking sheet ready to put in the oven. Bake at the same time you’re cooking the fish.
Mashed Potatoes
Step 2
Peel the potatoes and quarter them and place in a pot to boil to tender consistency. Throw a tsp. of salt in the pot.
Step 3
When the potatoes are ready, drain the water out of the pan. Add a splash of milk to the potatoes in the pan. Use a hand mixer to whip the potatoes. Add salt & pepper to taste. Add slices of butter & splashes of milk to the whipped potatoes until you get the consistency you would like.
Puttanesca
Step 4
Blend stewed tomatoes & fire roasted tomatoes in food processor. Split in half. Put one half in the fridge for future use.
Step 5
In a large, heavy skillet, heat 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil over low heat. Add garlic and cook, stirring frequently for about 2 minutes or until garlic is soft but not browned.
Step 6
Add half of the tomato purée to the pan. Store the other half in the refrigerator for future use. Add wine, olives and capers. Increase heat to medium and simmer gently, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes, or until tomatoes have broken down. Season to taste with salt & pepper.
Mahi Mahi
Step 7
Season fish with salt, drizzle fillets with remaining 1 Tbsp. oil and lay gently in the sauce. Cover and simmer gently over low heat 7 to 10 minutes, or until fish is just cooked through and flakes easily.
Serve
Step 8
Sprinkle with parsley and serve. We typically serve our fish & Puttanesca over mashed potatoes or white rice - both are delicious!
Step 9
Scoop potatoes (or rice) onto a plate & lay a fish fillet in the center. Pour Puttanesca sauce over the fish fillet.
Step 10
Serve crescent rolls with the finished dish.
