Bread Machine French Bread Loaf

This is an adaption of HouseofNasheats.com “French Loaf” recipe to be made in a bread machine. These turned out great, and I will definitely be making these more in the future.

Instructions

Step 1
To bread machine basket add warm water, sugar, salt, oil, 2 cups of flour and yeast
Step 2
Turn the bread machine on the dough setting, but keep the lid open and watch until the dough forms a ball. It will be sticky. Continue adding flour until the dough no longer sticks to the side and forms a nice ball. Once the dough forms into a ball, close the lid and let the machine continue on the dough setting.
Step 3
When the dough cycle is complete, punch down the dough and turn out on to a lightly floured surface. Divide into 4. Roll each into long rectangles, then roll the rectangles up starting on the long edge to form a snake. Place in a greased loaf pan, and allow them to proof for another 45 mins, or until they are about doubled in size.
Step 4
Preheat oven to 375F. Once oven is heated throw a few ice cubes in the bottom, then bake the loaves at 375F for 20-25 minutes.
