Instructions
Step 1
In the bowl of a stand miser, combine the milk, yeast, and sugar. Allow to sit for 5 minutes, then whisk in the egg.
Step 2
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
Step 3
Add 1/3 of the flour mixture to the yeast mixture and mix on low with the dough hook attached.
Step 4
Once combined, add another 1/3 of the flour mixture.
Step 5
Then, add 1 tbsp of butter at a time, mixing until incorporated after each addition.
Step 6
Once all of the butter is added, add the last 1/3 of the flour mixture, and mix until the dough is formed.
Step 7
Knead on medium speed for 3-5 minutes, until the dough is smooth and soft.
Step 8
Transfer to a lightly greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel and allow to rise at room temperature for 30-45 minutes.
Step 9
Gently deflate the risen dough, and then lay on a lightly floured surface.
Step 10
Divide the dough into 24 equal parts, and then loosely cover with a kitchen towel.
Step 11
For each piece, stretch and roll into a 10" log.
Step 12
Use your hands to form twists with the dough pieces.
Step 13
Loosely cover with a kitchen towel and repeat with remaining dough.
Step 14
Preheat air fryer to 350F.
Step 15
Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 16
Working in batches, transfer the donuts to the air fryer basket in a single later. Spray the top of the donuts with non-stick coming spray and air fry at 350F for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining donuts.
Step 17
Remove from the air fryer and immediately toss in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
