Maple Pecan Filling
½ cupbutter
1 cupbrown sugar
1 cupmaple syrup
4eggs
1 tspvanilla
½ tspsalt
1 cuproasted pecans
chopped

Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease pan
Step 2
Brown the butter for the filling. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Cook the butter until the milk solids begin to brown. Transfer to bowl and set aside to cool slightly
Step 3
For the base: mix butter and icing sugar. Add flour and salt. Mix until combined. Press into pan and bake for 15-20 minutes. Wait for base to finish cooking before filling.
Step 4
For the filling: mix browned butter, brown sugar and maple syrup. Add in eggs, vanilla and salt until combined. Stir in chopped pecans.
Step 5
Pour filling over the crust and top with pinch of salt
Step 6
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Let cool for 30 minutes. Then put in fridge for 2 hours until completely chilled
Step 7
Cut into squares and serve
