Sea Salt Caramel
6 steps
Prep:2minCook:20min
This easy salted caramel sauce comes together with just a few ingredients and minimal effort. Slowly cooked sugar with a bit of water turns into a smooth, golden caramel. A splash of cream lends body and salt provides the perfect contrast to the sweetness. The result is a delicious drizzling caramel that can dress up everything from ice cream sundaes to fresh baked goods. Makes approximately 1 cup.

Instructions
Step 1
In a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar.

Remove from heat and carefully pour in the heavy cream (it will bubble rapidly). Whisk vigorously for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
Step 4
Add the butter, one piece at a time, whisking until fully incorporated.
Step 5
Stir in the vanilla and sea salt.
Step 6
Let cool slightly before using on top of ice cream, pancakes, etc or storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
