Instructions
Step 1
Saute onions in 1/2 stuck of butter until just starting to become transluxent. If not sweet enough, add 1 - 2 tbsp sugar to taste.
Step 2
Mix 1 sleeve crushed ritz crackers with 1/2 stick melted butter.
Step 3
Mix shredded cheese with crushed crackers
Step 4
Spray 9x13 casserole or foil pan with cooking spray. Layer half of the cracker mix, followed by all of the onions, then the other half of the cracker mix.
Step 5
Bake uncovered until browned on top. Most any oven temperature works, so this can be prepared with other dishes that need a set temp. Average cookimg times are 30 - 45 mins at temps between 325 - 375 and 15 - 30 mins at temps between 375 - 450.
