Instructions
Step 1
add all ingredients to bread machine in order
Step 2
mix on dough setting, adding either flour or water to get correct consistency
Step 3
at the end of the cycle if the dough has doubled, remove from machine onto a lightly floured surface. Shape into a loose ball and let sit for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Roll the dough into an oval slightly longer than you want the final loaf. Roll into a cylinder shape. pinch seams and ends in. Let rise in warm oven for 45 min to 1 hour
Step 5
Preheat oven to 425F. Whisk 1 egg and 1tsp of water together and brush over the loaf. Using a sharp knife cut diagonal slashes about 2 inches apart and about 1/2 inch deep across the loaf.
Step 6
Bake the loaf for 20 min. Reduce heat to 350F and bake another 5-10 min until golden brown.
