Step 1
Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Add chopped onions and sauté until the onions are translucent.

Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, shredded cheese or mozzarella, grated asiago, chopped parsley, and a beaten egg. Mix well to create the cheese filling.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a baking dish, layer the lasagna as follows: a thin layer of meat sauce, a layer of lasagna noodles, and a layer of the cheese filling, and a layer of Chihuahua cheese or mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.

Optionally, sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top for added flavor.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
