Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 F (220 C)
Step 2
Prepare a round 9 inch round cake pan with parchment paper in the bottom.
Step 3
In a medium bowl mix all dry ingredients together well.
Step 4
Cut butter and cream cheese into squares approx 1/4 inch and blend into the flour mixture by hand until the texture is like grated Parmesan cheese.
Step 5
Add buttermilk and use rubber spatula or wooden spoon to mix until just incorporated fully. Dough should still look wettish. Place in fridge if your oven is still preheating.
Step 6
Dust your working surface with a generous amount of flour and dump dough onto surface. Turn the dough in on itself a few times (4 or 5) until it’s still looks loose and wettish but more connected than before and the outside is dusted with the flour. Use more Dusting flour if needed to handle dough.
Step 7
Shape dough into 6 cylinders and place inside cake pan in a circle. It’s fine if they’re touching.
Step 8
Bake for approx 20 to 25 mins, times can vary depending on your oven. They should have a nice golden brown color on top when finished.
Step 9
Let cool in pan for a few minutes then dump out gently onto cooling rack and break apart to finish cooling. Eat them hot or room temp. Enjoy!
Step 10
Try these with your favorite jam for a sweet treat or cut open and make a biscuit sandwich with a fried egg and slice of cheese. Mmmmmm.
