Pigs in Blankets Sausage Rolls
The Christmas content is here!! I don’t about you but I feel like everyone is going earlier this year with everything festive so here we are breaking my own rule of waiting until December! The pigs in blankets sausage rolls are the perfect festive snack & are so easy to make. To make 16 sausage rolls you will need:
6 sausages
1 tsp onion granules
1 tsp sage
1 pack
puff pastry
7 rashers streaky bacon
4 tbsp cranberry sauce
100g brie
1 egg
Remove the skin from the sausages & then add the onion granules & sage. Mix well until fully combined.
Remove from pastry from the packaging & roll it out until the thickness has halved. Cut it in half longways horizontally to make to long thinner pieces.
Split the cranberry sauce between each piece spreading thinly.
Split the sausage meat between each one forming it in to a thin cylinder shape in the middle of the pastry
Cut up the brie in to long thing strips and push in to the sausage meat as far as you can, this will keep the cheese from seeping out too much.
Cut up the bacon to the length of half of the width of the pastry & then layer it on top of the sausage meat. Don’t make the same mistake I did by laying the bacon on the bottom otherwise you will get soggy bottoms.
Whist the egg and then brush one edge of the pastry with some egg
Roll over the pastry until both sides meet at the egg wash and crimp the edge with a fork.
Slice each roll in to 8, score each one & then egg wash
Cook in the airfryer for 15 mins at 190 or in the oven for 20 mins then serve with some cranberry sauce on the side
