Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan forced. Line base and sides of a deep 20cm-round cake pan.
Step 2
Combine chocolate, cocoa, sugar and the water in a large bowl; stir until smooth. Add egg yolks; whisk to combine. Fold in almond meal and flour.
Step 3
Beat egg whites in a separate bowl with electric mixer until firm peaks form. Gently fold egg white mixture into chocolate mixture, in two batches.
Step 4
Pour into prepared pan. Bake, uncovered, for about 40 minutes. Stand in pan for 5 minutes; turn onto wire rack, remove paper.
Step 5
Serve cake warm, dusted with icing sugar and fresh strawberries.
