Instructions
Step 1
1. In a saucepan heat neutral oil over medium-low heat. Add garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, smoked paprika, red chili flakes, and chili paste. Cook for around 1 minute, or until fragrant and slightly toasted.

2. Add tomato paste and stir. Cook for an additional minute, then slowly whisk in water.
Step 3
Add vinegar, salt and sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10min

4. Remove from heat and allow braising liquid to cool completely before placing it in the fridge.

1. Preheat oil in pan

2. Add lightly salted chicken breast and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until lightly seared. Flip the chicken, then immediately add in the braising liquid. Cover with a lid, reduce to a simmer, and cook for 23-25 minutes.
Step 7
Turn off the heat and rest for 10 minutes before shredding the chicken directly in the sauce.
