Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350° . Butter the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
Step 2
Chop nuts and toss with pie spice. Unroll phyllo and cut whole stack in half. Cover with a dampened cloth.
Step 3
Place two sheets of dough in pan, butter throughly. Repeat until you have 8 layers.
Step 4
Sprinkle with nut mixture. Top with 2 sheets of dough, butter, nuts, etc. The top layer should be 8 sheets.
Step 5
Using a sharp knife, cut into diamond or square shapes. Cut into 4 long rows for diagonal cuts.
Step 6
Bake for about 50 minutes, until golden and crisp. Meanwhile heart sugar and water until boiling. Add vanilla and honey, some for 20 minutes.
Step 7
Spoon into baklava immediately after taking out of oven.
