Instructions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Season the steak with salt and pepper. When the olive oil is hot, add the steak in a single layer and cook until well seared, about 2 minutes. Flip them over and cook about 2 minutes more. (You may have to do this in batches depending on the size of your pan.) Remove the steak to a plate.
Step 2
Add the butter to the skillet and reduce the heat to medium. Add the garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, if using, and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
Step 3
Add the steak back to the pan and stir to coat with the garlic butter. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
