Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven 160° FF. Lightly spray 18 X 28 cm slice pan. Place dates and bicarb in heatproof bowl pour over 250 ml boiling water. Set aside 10 minutes Using electronic beaters, beat spread and sugar and eggs in large bowl. Stir in dates and flour. Pour into prepared pan and bake 25 minutes until cooked (test with skewer) Stir sauce sugar into evaporated milk in a small pot, warm over low heat until sugar dissolves then bring to boil, reduce heat stirring all the while, until sauce thickens slightly. Serve pudding with sauce and custard.
