Instructions
Step 1
Turn Instant Pot to saute setting. When display says HOT add in 1 Tbsp of butter and let it melt. Add in the smoked sausage and let it brown for a couple minutes. Then add in the onion and saute until it softens.
Step 2
Pour in the broth and scrape bottom of pot so that nothing is sticking. Turn off Instant Pot.
Step 3
Add in the cabbage, potatoes and old bay seasoning. Place the remaining tablespoon of butter on top.
Step 4
Cover Instant Pot and secure the lid. Make sure valve is set to sealing. Set the manual/pressure cook button to 4 minutes. When time is up let pot sit for 5 minutes then move the valve to venting. Remove the lid.
Step 5
If desired you can use a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Turn your Instant Pot to the saute setting. In a small bowl stir together 1 Tbsp of cornstarch with 1-2 Tbsp of water, until smooth. Then pour the mixture into the Instant Pot. The cornstarch mixture will thicken up contents of pot quickly.
