Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a baking sheet with oil.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar and cinnamon for 3 minutes, and add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
Step 3
Add in the flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, beating in between just enough to combine.
Step 4
Remove about 1/2 of the cookie dough and set in it another bowl.
Step 5
To one dough add the cocoa powder and mix to combine. To the other dough add in the kinako powder and mix until just combined.
Step 6
To create the marble look and avoid mixing the colors, roll the kinako dough into balls first then roll the chocolate dough into balls as well. They should be about 1 tbsp.
Step 7
Place 2 of the kinako balls and 2 cocoa balls on top of each other, alternating between colors. Roll in your hand to create a marbled look and stop when it reaches your desired marbling.
Step 8
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are set. Sprinkle with flaky salt.
