1 lbground beef
or substitute with ground turkey or plant-based meat

1onion
small, finely chopped

1green bell pepper
small, finely chopped

2 clovesgarlic
minced

½ cupketchup
or a bit less

1 TbspWorcestershire sauce

1 Tbspbrown sugar

1 tspmustard
yellow or Dijon

1 tspchili powder
optional for a bit of heat

salt
to taste

pepper
to taste

4hamburger buns

½ cupbbq sauce

⅛ tspArbol chili

½ tspAncho chili

1 x 14 ozcan Stewed Tomatos

8 oztomato sauce
Instructions
Step 1
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Step 2
- Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
Step 3
- In the same skillet, add the ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and chili powder (if using). Stir to combine.
Step 4
- Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken and coat the meat nicely.
Step 5
- Spoon the mixture onto the hamburger buns. Serve hot, and enjoy!
