Soft and Buttery Dinner Rolls

Ingredients
6 servings
4 cupsflour
1 cupwhole milk
warm microwave for 1 minute
2 teaspoonsactive dry yeast
¼ cupsugar
2eggs
2 teaspoonsalt
5 tablespoonsunsalted butter
softened
1 tablespoonunsalted butter
melted, for brushing the top of rolls once out of the oven
Egg wash
Instructions
Step 1
1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, salt, warm milk, and eggs in the bowl of a stand mixer.
Step 2
2. Attach the dough hook and turn the mixer on to the low speed and mix until flour is incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes.
Step 3
3. Add in the softened butter and turn mixer on medium speed until incorporated and smooth.
Step 4
4. Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap and a towel. Let rise for 1 hour at room temperature until doubled in size.
Step 5
5. Remove the towel and plastic wrap, deflate the dough by punching down lightly.
Step 6
6. Divide the dough into 8-12 equal pieces (depending on the size of your pan) then roll into balls.
Step 7
7. Transfer the rolls to a lightly greased baking dish. Cover with a towel and let rise for an additional 1 hour at room temperature until puffy.
Step 8
8. Preheat oven to 375° F. In a bowl combine the egg and water for the egg wash. Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 9
9. Remove rolls and brush hot rolls with the melted butter and enjoy!
