Step 1
In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat ghee on medium heat. Add semolina and roast until it turns golden brown and aromatic, stirring continuously. In a separate pot, combine sugar, milk, water, and salt, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the saffron strands and mix well. Gradually add the boiling milk mixture into the roasted semolina while stirring to prevent lumps. Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. Add cardamom powder, chopped mixed nuts, and rose water; mix thoroughly. Pour the halwa into a greased tray, spreading it evenly. Let it cool for a few hours, then cut into squares or diamonds. Serve at room temperature and enjoy!
