Strawberry Drink by Raphaella

The strawberry is a very important berry for Haudenosaunee, Indigenous People. It is called Aw'hihte' (a-WUH-heat) in the Tuscarora language. It is the first berry of the summer.

Instructions

Step 1
In a small saucepan, heat syrup and water in a pan on the stove. Add in strawberries.
Step 2
Simmer for around 10 minutes to break down the fruit. Once done, let sit for 30 minutes to cool down.
Step 3
Strain, and store in a container in the refrigerator. Enjoy when cool
