Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or gas mark 4. Grease and line a loaf tin with baking paper.

2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth.

3. Add the wet ingredients: Stir in the melted butter, sugar, and eggs until well combined.
Step 4
4. Add the dry ingredients: Fold in the self-raising flour gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

5. Incorporate the blueberries: Toss the frozen blueberries in a little flour (this helps prevent them from sinking) and fold them gently into the batter.
Step 6
6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin and smooth the top. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Step 7
7. Cool: Let the cake cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
