Air Fryer Chicken Goujons

Learn how to make these crispy chicken goujons are made from scratch entirely in the air fryer. For a healthier and delicious twist on a classic dish. I like to serve mine with a sticky honey mustard sauce for dipping.

Instructions

Step 1
start by cutting the chicken breasts into thin evenly sized strips about 2 cm wide to create the goujons.
Step 2
In a shallow bowl, add the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine the dry ingredients.
Step 3
In another bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them together.
Step 4
In a third shallow bowl, add the breadcrumbs.
Step 5
So coat each chicken strip first in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure that it is evenly coated.
Step 6
Next, dip each piece of chicken into the egg wash, allowing any excess egg to drip off.
Step 7
Finally, coat the chicken strip with the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick well.
Step 8
If you prefer really crispy chicken you can preheat your air fryer to 200°C for around 5 minutes.
Step 9
Then lightly spray the chicken goujons with olive oil to ensure they get crispy.
Step 10
So place the chicken strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Leave the crisper plates in and make sure the basket is not overcrowded. You may need to do this in batches if you have a smaller air fryer.
Step 11
Air fry them at 200°C for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the goujons are golden brown and crispy.
Step 12
Serve your goujons warm with your favourite dipping sauce like mayonnaise, honey mustard, sweet chilli, BBQ sauce, or ranch dressing.
