Sweet Potato Waffle Fries
4 steps
Prep:15minCook:15min
What's the perfect side to Gluten Free Chicken Tenders or Freezer Chicken Nuggets? That's right, French Fries. I've made Spiced Sweet Potato Fries before by cutting sweet potatoes into long, thin fries and air frying them. But today, I'm using my mandoline to make waffle fries instead. Compared to traditional fries, these have significantly less oil as they're not deep fried. Feel free to swap sweet potatoes for regular white or yellow potatoes. All potatoes are healthy (as long as they're prepared right)

Instructions
Step 1
This recipe only makes 1 serving as that's all that can fit in the air fryer at a time, but you can easily scale it up and fry in batches. Or you can bake in the oven, but it will take about double the time and not be as crispy
Step 2
Wash your sweet potato, and slice off the ends (but don't peel it!). Slice the potato using a mandoline on the waffle fry setting

Step 3

Add your fries to a glass bowl, and toss with vinegar, oil, and spices. Cover with a plate, and microwave for 5 minutes to soften the inside a little before air frying

Step 4

Add to your air fryer basket. You may have to fry in 2 batches. Air fry at 400F for about 6-8 minutes, or until the outside is browned and crispy, and the center is soft and tender
