Instructions
Step 1
I started by cutting my chicken things into similar size pieces and popping them into a large bowl. I sliced my leek and diced my carrots and added to the same bowl. Next slice your bacon and add the slices to the bowl too. Add a dash of olive oil and seasoning, stir well.
Step 2
I popped the mix into an oven proof dish and placed into my air fryer on 180c for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring in the middle.
Step 3
Meanwhile, take your pasty out of the fridge and make sure it’s a room temperature. Add in your crème fraiche, stock and mustard to the mix and stir well. Place back into your air fryer and cook for a further 6 to 8 minutes.
Step 4
Once the filling is cooked carefully remove your dish and set aside.
Step 5
Roll out your pastry and place neatly on top. I gave mine a little egg wash too in order to create a nice crisp and browned finish. Place back in your air fryer and cook for around 5 minutes. Keeping an eye your pastry to ensure that it does not burn.
Step 6
Depending what type of air fryer you have you may need to adjust the timings, so keep an eye on your food and if in doubt cook for a little longer. Mostly make sure your chicken is cooked throughout.
Step 7
Serve the air fryer chicken, leek and bacon pie with your favourite greens to serve and maybe some buttery mash.
