Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Step 2
In a medium-size bowl, beat eggs for 30 seconds. Add the sugar, salt, and vanilla and whisk gently to mix.
Step 3
Heat the milk and half & half to 180° (160°) F. Do not boil.
Step 4
Drizzel the hot milk into the egg mixture whisking/stirring constantly.
Step 5
Pour the custard mixture evenly into 6 ramekins and place them in a large baking pan. Pour hot water into the pan so it surrounds the ramekins. Be careful not to get any hot water in the custard.
Step 6
Carefully place the baking pan with custard ramekins in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes. The custard is done when a sharp knife inserted in the custard comes out clean.
