Instructions

Step 1
Heat oil in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add the rice and stir gently until rice begins to lightly brown.
Step 2
Add the garlic, salt, cumin, and onion. Stir until rice looks golden and onion has become transparent.
Step 3
Add the tomato sauce and chicken broth. Turn heat up to medium high.
Step 4
Bring mixture to a boil, then turn heat to low and cover the pan with a lid. Simmer for 18 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from heat. Fluff with fork. Stir in black beans.
Step 6
Replace lid and let sit for 10 minutes or until beans are heated through.
