1 lbground beef

1 tablespoonolive oil

0.5onion
medium, finely chopped

0.5green bell pepper
finely chopped

2cloves garlic
minced

½ cupketchup

½ cupDr Pepper soda

¼ cupbarbecue sauce
your favorite brand

1 tablespoonworcestershire sauce

1 tablespoontomato paste

1 teaspoonmustard
yellow or Dijon

½ teaspoonsmoked paprika

salt
to taste

Instructions

Cook the Beef:

In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté chopped onion and green bell pepper until soft, about 4–5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.

Brown the Beef:

Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add the Sauce:

Stir in ketchup, Dr. Pepper, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Simmer:

Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and clings to the meat.

Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto toasted buns. Top with your choice of garnishes like cheese or coleslaw. Serve immediately.
