Entertaining Ideas
Build your own s’mores-inspired stacks of savory meats, cheeses and more.
How-to:
1. Opt for cheese varieties that are prime for melting, like mozzarella, Brie, Gouda and manchego. Slice the cheeses into bite-size pieces and place them on a charcuterie board.
2. Add meats, crackers, spreads and fresh touches. Go for meats that are easy to skewer, like folds of ham and rounds of summer sausage. Some spread ideas include olive tapenade, apricot jam or cherry jam. Herbs, olives, fruits and gherkins make terrific fresh touches.
3. Choose your flavor combo, adding any spreads and accent flavors to two crackers so they’re ready for the warmed meat and cheese.
4. Thread your meat and cheese combo onto a roasting stick, then cook over a campfire for 1–2 minutes, until the meat is warm and the cheese is melty and soft.
5. Just as you would a marshmallow in a traditional s’more, sandwich the “roasted” meat and cheese between the prepared crackers to create a new fireside favorite.
