Step 1
Peel the apples, cut them into boats and put them in a large bowl of water. Add half a lemon's worth of lemon juice to the water.





Step 2
Whip the butter and sugar together until it turns white. Then add one egg at a time and whisk the mixture together.





Step 3
Mix flour, vanilla sugar and baking powder. Then add a small portion at a time into the cream mixture while whisking it all together.




Step 4
Put one sheet of parchment paper inside a cake pan. Then brush the inside with butter.



Step 5
Pour a portion of the batter into the cake pan so that it just covers the bottom. Add some of the apples to cover the layer (think lasagne!).
Step 6
Sprinkle the apples with cinnamon powder and sugar. Repeat steps 5-6 until all batter is used.


Step 7
Preheat the oven at 190 °C

Step 8
Place the cake in the bottom row of the oven and let it bake for about 45 minutes. (Tip: Use the toothpick test to see if it is done!)

Step 9
Let the cake cool for about 5 minutes
