Instructions

Step 1
Melt Butter: Place a skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt until it starts to foam slightly. Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the hot skillet. Break it up with a spoon or spatula as it cooks. Season (Optional): If you are using unsalted butter and prefer a higher sodium content, add a pinch of salt to the beef while it's browning. Cook Thoroughly: Cook the beef until it is fully browned and no pink remains. This will take about 8-10 minutes. Drain Fat (Optional): If there is an excessive amount of rendered fat, you may carefully tilt the pan and spoon out some of the excess. However, on a carnivore diet, keeping most of the fat is often desired for satiety. Add Cheese: Reduce the heat to low. Sprinkle the Gouda and Cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the ground beef. Cover and Melt: Place a lid on the skillet and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and gooey. Serve: Scoop the cheesy ground beef mixture into a bowl. The melted butter and beef drippings will create a delicious sauce at the bottom. Enjoy immediately!
