If you don't have or want to use the custard powder you can substitute with the same amount of cornflour, but be aware you won't get the same golden yellow colour.

Instructions

Step 1
For a less grainy butter, pour the sugar into a blender and blend on full power for 15 seconds.
Step 2
Beat together butter and sugar until light and creamy.
Step 3
Add the brandy/vanilla, cornflour and custard, and mix until fully combined.
Step 4
Spoon brandy butter into a serving dish or Tupperware container with a sealed lid, to prevent the butter picking up other smells in the fridge. Chill for 20 minutes before serving.
Step 5
Butter will keep for up to 1 month in the fridge.
