Sicilian Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

This hearty Sicilian dish of meatballs in tomato sauce is simple and delicious. Perfect for a hungry family, serve with pasta or a simple salad for a complete meal.

Step 1
Using your hands, mix together meat, bread crumbs, parmesan, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper.
Step 2
Add 3 lightly beaten eggs and mix well until the mixture comes together. If dry, add a little more egg.
Step 3
Roll a handful of the mixture into a ball; if it holds together, proceed to shape the rest of the mixture into balls.
Step 4
In roasting pan, add oil and bake the meatballs in until browned on all sides at 200C
Step 5
Bring 3/4 pot of water to a boil with a little bit of oil and salt in, add 1 packet of spaghetti and stir till cooked, drain and make sure it is ready to eat
Step 6
Heat oil in a large pan and cook canned tomatoes
Step 7
Once brown, transfer meatballs to the pan with tomato sauce, submerge in sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Cook gently.
