Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter (salted is recommended)
1 package (10 oz., about 40) Jet-Puffed Marshmallows OR 5-1/2 cups Miniature Marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal
(Optional) 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or a pinch of sea salt for extra flavor Rice Krispies Treats

Instructions
Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth.
Add Flavoring (Optional): Remove the pan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
Mix in Cereal: Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Stir until the cereal is completely and evenly coated.
Press into Pan: Using a buttered spatula or wax paper, evenly press the mixture into a 13x9x2-inch pan that has been coated with cooking spray.
Tip: Do not press too hard or pack the mixture too tightly, or the treats will be hard instead of chewy.

Tips for Success
Use Fresh Marshmallows: Old, stale marshmallows will make the treats hard and won't melt properly.
Use Extra Marshmallows: For a gooier, softer treat, use 16 oz (about 8 cups) of marshmallows instead of 10 oz, along with 6-7 cups of cereal.
