Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
Mix dry ingredients - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, turmeric, and Kashmiri chili powder.
Step 3
Cut in butter - Add the cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or fingertips to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Add milk - Pour in the milk and stir gently until just combined.
Step 5
Incorporate cheese & parsley — Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface, sprinkle half of the cheese and parsley over it, then fold the dough over.
Step 6
Repeat folding — Roll out the dough and fold over about 5 times to create flaky layers, incorporating the remaining cheese and parsley as you go.
Step 7
Cut biscuits — Roll out to about ¾ inch (2 cm) thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut rounds.
Step 8
Egg wash — Brush the tops with a beaten egg for a golden crust.
Step 9
Bake - Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 10
Cool slightly & enjoy! Serve warm with butter or alongside your favorite dish.
