Instructions
Step 1
Don’t peel the potatoes. Clean the potatoes, skin on, by lightly scrubbing the outside to make sure there’s no dirt. Cut out the stem spot and any bad parts. (You only need to cut out the eyes it they actually show that they’re growing something ☺ .)
Step 2
Cut the potatoes in half.
Step 3
Peel the garlic cloves.
Step 4
Boil the potatoes with the whole, peeled garlic. When potatoes are fork tender, remove from heat and drain immediately.
Step 5
Place potatoes and garlic in a mixing bowl and whip with a whisk or an electric mixer.
Step 6
Heat the cream and butter. Mix cream and butter into the potatoes using the electric mixer.
Step 7
Season potatoes with nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste.
Step 8
Finish by whisking the sour cream into the hot potatoes. (I usually just use the electric mixer to do this too.)
