Instructions

Step 1
1. Roast fresh red bell peppers until the skins are blistered and lightly charred.
Step 2
2. Place the peppers in a covered bowl or bag for 10–15 minutes to steam, then peel off the skins and remove the seeds.

3. Blend the peppers until completely smooth.
Step 4
4. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter or ghee.
Step 5
5. Whisk in the roasted red pepper purée.
Step 6
6. Stir in the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne (if using), and maple syrup or honey.
Step 7
7. Simmer gently for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Do not boil.
Step 8
8. If the sauce is thicker than you’d like, whisk in 1–2 tablespoons of water until it reaches your preferred consistency.
