Step 1
Soak dates: Place the Deglet Noor dates in a bowl, cover with hot water, and let them sit for 10 to 15 minutes until very soft. Drain the remaining water.
Step 2
Warm the fruit: Put the berries and lemon juice in a small pot over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes until the berries break down and bubble. Use a fork to mash the fruit.
Step 3
Blend the base: Transfer the softened dates and cooked berries to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.
Step 4
Thicken with chia: Pour the mixture back into a bowl or pot off the heat. Stir in the chia seeds completely.
