Instructions

Step 1
In a large saucepan, combine the broth, preserved radish, if using, fish sauce, and 1/8 tsp pepper. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium heat. Adjust the heat to maintain a gentle simmer.
Step 2
To make each dumpling, roll about 1 teaspoon pork into a tiny ball. Drop the balls, a few at a time, into the simmering broth and cook for 1 minute. Add the rice and simmer until the rice is soft and the soup is slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Serve, garnished with the cilantro, green onion, and garlic oil.
