1 tspvanilla extract

Filling
Instructions
Step 1
preheat oven to 350 F. Whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla, orange zest, and canola oil in one bowl. in a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt in another.
Step 2
Slowly stir dry ingredients into the wet, using a large spoon and using circular motions until a crumbly dough begins to form
Step 3
Knead until smooth and lightly tacky to the touch. If too dry, add water slowly 1 tsp at a time. If too wet, do the same but with flour
Step 4
Lightly flour a smooth, clean surface. Use rolling pin to roll out down to 1/4 in thick. Scrape dough up with pastry scraper, re-flour surface and flip dough over. Continue rolling dough until no thinner than 1/8 in.
Step 5
Use 3 in cookie cutter or 3 in rim of glass to cut circles out of the dough, cut as many as you can get.
Step 6
Place a teaspoon (no more) of filling into center of each circle. Cover unused circles with a lightly damp towel to prevent them from drying out.

Preheat oven to 350 F

In mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, canola oil, orange zest, and vanilla

In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt
Assembling Cookie
Step 10
Assemble hamentashen: grasp the left side of the circle and fold it toward the center to make a flap that covers the left third. Repeat with right and bottom sides, making sure to lightly overlap right over left and bottom over both. Pinch corners to secure shape.
Step 11
Lightly grease baking sheet and arrange cookies. Bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes until cookies are cooked through and lightly golden

Cool on wire rack and store in tightly sealed bag or tupperware
