Instructions
Step 1
Whisk the flour, half of sweetener and salt together in a medium bowl. Add butter and water and stir until the flour is moistened. Gently knead the dough a few times on a lightly floured work surface until it all comes together. Rest the dough in refrigerator it for at least 1 hour.
Step 2
Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Mix together the apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon zest, and the rest of the sweetener and set aside.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 180°C. On a lightly floured work surface, roll the dough into a circle and transfer the dough to baking paper. Brush the centre of the dough with cream cheese and then fold the apples in from the centre, leaving only 5 cm of space from the edges. Fold the edges over the apples. Brush the crust edges with egg wash and bake for about 35-40min until the crust is golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
