Instructions

Step 1
set out: saucepan, mesh strainer, glass mugs; a chopping board and a knife
Step 2
combine the ingredients in the saucepan and stir it briefly.
Step 3
heat the wine on a medium/high heat until it just barely reaches a simmer (don't boil off the alcohol)
Step 4
reduce the heat to low and place the lid on the saucepan. let the wine simmer for at least 15 mins or up to 3 hours
Step 5
when the wine has brewed for the desired time, strain the wine into a glass jug, discarding the spices and orange slices: add extra sweetener if needed.
Step 6
serve warm in glass mugs, add new orange slices and a cinnamon stick
